“From one mom to another, you can totally do this. And I can help you.“
Therapy and Consulting Services for perinatal mental health, depression and anxiety in Southeastern WI.
Individual Sessions
As a therapist I provide a safe and comfortable environment for you to explore your inner struggles. Through the development of personal growth and understanding you will learn to lead a life of happiness. Within the first two sessions I will make a diagnosis and we will develop a treatment plan to track your progress. Although I specialize in treating perinatal mood disorders I have extensive experience in treating stress/anxieties, women’s concerns, addiction, and co-occurring issues.
Group Sessions
Feeling connected and validated by others in similar situations is imperative to healing and moving forward. Group sessions allow moms to come together to talk about challenges they are facing and seek guidance. Common group topics include bonding and attachment, mindfulness, asking for help, boundary setting, sleep hygiene, sharing responsibilities, and navigating the day to day life of parenting.
Consulting Services
My consulting services are done one on one with you and your significant other or person of support (i.e. mother, father, sister, friend), if desired. Each appointment is tailored to your needs and will be discussed before we start. We will create a plan specific to you and your family’s needs and you will be provided with helpful tools for your “new mom” toolkit.
If your agency is interested in coordinating a “Lunch and Learn” presentation, please contact me today.

About Me and My Therapy Approach
Hi, I’m Heather, it’s nice to meet you. I imagine you’ve been struggling for awhile now and finally made the step in finding someone to talk to, I’m so glad you’re here! The therapeutic relationship is very important to me so we often move through our sessions with ease making it feel more like a conversation. I’m empathetic and honest, I will ask about your weekend or about that book you’ve been meaning to read. I often utilize humor, and I even have a potty mouth sometimes. And no worries about finding a sitter, you are welcome to bring your baby along. I believe in teamwork so you better believe we will work together to find balance in your new life!
I earned my Master of Science degree from University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2008. I’ve worked in a variety of different environments including intensive outpatient treatment, residential centers, emergency department, and outpatient therapy. I’m dually credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor.
I’m a wife and a mom to a little boy. I enjoy HOT coffee (I know you know what I’m talking about!), reading, traveling, and running. I dislike tomatoes and rude people.
I look forward to working with you!
Heather Donahue, LPC, CSAC
